Determining to keep the green zone at the border gate to stabilize the customs clearance activities

– On the afternoon of November 21, the delegation of the Provincial People’s Committee led by Mrs. Doan Thu Ha, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee, inspected the import and export situation of goods and the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic at Huu Nghi International Border Gate and Tan Thanh Border Gate. 

According to a report by the Management Board of the Dong Dang – Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone, from the beginning of 2021 up to now, the import and export activities of goods through these two border gates have been basically stable. The prevention and control of COVID-19 at the two border gates has still been being implemented effectively. Along with that, the border guard at the two border gates has actively coordinated with relevant units to closely manage the activities of the fulltime driving team.

At the inspection, the leaders of the People’s Committees of Cao Loc and Van Lang districts quickly reported the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic in their management areas. Accordingly, from May 6, 2021 to the end of November 20, there were 19 F0 cases in Cao Loc district, of which 2 were newly detected on November 20. Currently, 10 cases of F0 are still being treated at medical facilities.

In Van Lang district, by the end of November 20, there have been 90 cases of F0, 87 cases of F0 have been discharged from hospital and 3 cases of F0 are being treated at medical facilities.

After the inspection and listening to the representatives of the Management Board of the Dong Dang – Lang Son Economic Zone and related agencies and units, the Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee stated that in the coming time, the People’s Committees of Cao Loc and Van Lang districts should continue to strengthen the direction of COVID-19 prevention and control; raise people’s awareness in the implementation of regulations on pandemic prevention and control; coordinate with functional forces at the border gate to effectively implement pandemic prevention and control measures at the two border gates.

Additionally, the border guard force is to ensure reasonable regulation of vehicles at the border gate area, to prevent congestion in the border gate area; to coordinate with the Center for Border Gate Management and businesses to strictly manage the full-time driving team and long-distance drivers; Department of Industry and Trade should inform import-export situation, daily traffic of agricultural products to provinces and cities across the country, especially provinces with a large quantity of agricultural products exported through provincial border gates for early and remote regulation; the Department of Information and Communications and the Provincial Department of Public Security should proactively control information on social networks to take measures to fight and handle false information in accordance with regulations…

The Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee requested the relevant units to continue to actively implement appropriate measures to maintain the green zone at Huu Nghi International Border Gate, Tan Thanh Border Gate as well as other border gates, well implement the “dual goals” of both to preventing and controlling pandemic while ensuring stable import and export activities.
