The COVID-19 prevention and control has been carried out drastically, promptly, in the right direction and effectively.

– On the afternoon of October 14, the Provincial People’s Committee held a conference to review the COVID-19 prevention and control in the province.

Mr. Ho Tien Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Standing Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control chaired the conference. Attending the conference were Mrs. Doan Thi Hau, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council and members of the Steering Committee.

According to the report of the Provincial Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, from May 6, 2021 to October 13, 2021, the whole province recorded 214 cases of COVID-19, of whom 211 cases were cured; one case was dead; two cases are being treated at medical facilities in the area, with stable health.

Concentrated quarantine in the province’s quarantine areas and quarantine at hotels in the form of voluntary payment are absolutely safe for more than 30,000 people, no cases arising and no cross-contamination in the quarantine areas.

Mr. Ho Tien Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee spoke at the conference

In particular, with the efforts in vaccine diplomacy, Lang Son basically has enough COVID-19 vaccines for all people aged 18 and over in the area who are eligible to be vaccinated with two doses of vaccine.

As of October 13, 2021, the province administered 560,178 doses of vaccine against COVID-19 to ensure safety, of which 462,768 people received the first dose of vaccine; 97,410 people were vaccinated with two doses of vaccine. The proportion of eligible subjects aged 18 and over receiving at least one dose of vaccine/total population aged 18 years and over reached 90.9% (including the total number of people aged 18 and over present in the locality and the number of people has been vaccinated outside the province). Lang Son is one of eight provinces and cities in the country with a vaccine coverage rate for over 90% of the eligible population aged 18 and over have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

According to the assessment of the Provincial Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, although the epidemic prevention and control work in the area has achieved many positive results, in some units, the epidemic prevention and control still has many limitations that need to be overcome such as some units still being confused in epidemic prevention and control activities; part of the people are still negligent and subjective amid the complicated developments of the epidemic situation; limited resources on medical facilities to meet the epidemic prevention and control.

At the conference, the delegates were also informed about the draft working regulation of the Provincial Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control to respond to the activities of the Steering Committee in the new situation.

Concluding the conference, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee affirmed that with the participation of the whole political system, the consensus and support of the people, the COVID-19 prevention and control in the province has been carried out promptly, drastically, in the right direction, effectively, the epidemic has been well controlled. Lang Son has well implemented the “dual goal” of both effective epidemic prevention and socio-economic development.

Facing the complicated and unpredictable developments of the epidemic situation, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee asked the units to continue to thoroughly grasp, strictly and fully implement the directions of the central government and the province on the epidemic prevention and control, they absolutely must not be negligent, subjective or passive in the new developments of the epidemic.

Districts and the city need to take the initiative in coming up with effective epidemic prevention and control plans and options suitable to the actual conditions at each unit. Along with that, it is required to continue to strictly control people returning from epidemic areas; strictly control the team of long-distance drivers and strengthen the epidemic prevention and control at border and border gate areas.

At the same time, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee asked the districts and the city to focus on removing difficulties and well implement the regimes and policies for the people and businesses affected by the epidemic to urgently recover production, business and economic development.

For the Department of Health, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee requested the unit to urgently complete documents and advise the Provincial People’s Committee to develop guidelines for the implementation of epidemic prevention and control in the new situation. The Department of Health needs to accelerate the progress of vaccination against COVID-19 in the area with the motto “fastest, most effective, ensuring the highest safety for the people”.
