Lang Son city accelerates key projects

– In 2021, Lang Son city has 7 key projects, in which, it strives to complete and put 3 projects into operation. These are important works, therefore, the People’s Committee of Lang Son city has focused on mobilizing all resources, directing project management units and contractors to focus on speeding up the progress of projects from the very beginning of 2021.

According to the direction of the City People’s Committee, out of 7 key projects, there are 3 ones to be completed in 2021, including Lao Ly stream embankment project; renovating Fairy pagoda relic and restoring Mai Pha archaeological relic; 4 projects being sped up are invested by the City Construction Investment Management Board.

Lao Ly stream embankment project in Lang Son city includes reinforcing the stream embankment with concrete, walkways on both sides of the embankment, installing lighting systems and trees with a total length of more than 1.3 km crossing two wards of Vinh Trai and Tam Thanh. The project is divided into two packages with a construction value of nearly 50 billion VND.

Lao Ly stream located in a densely populated area is the place of wastewater discharge from Gieng Vuong market and neighboring residential areas. Therefore, the project is invested and built with the goal of overcoming environmental pollution of stream and creating urban landscape and embellishment for Lang Son city.

Therefore, right after starting the project, the City People’s Committee asked the land fund development center to focus on speeding up the site clearance and handing over the clean ground to the contractor to implement the project. In addition, the City Project Management Board requires contractors to develop detailed construction plans to facilitate the monitoring of quality progress. Every month, the organizing committee conducts field inspections of each project and holds briefings with contractors to follow the progress and promptly remove difficulties and problems arising during the project implementation.

Mr. Le Van Thang, Deputy Director of Lang Son Traffic Construction and Management Joint Stock Company, the construction unit of the Lao Ly stream embankment project said: “Overcoming the difficulties of narrow ground conditions, we have opened the construction road right at the stream bed for construction and installation and organized overtime work for quickly completion. Therefore, during the construction process, it is supported by the People, the contractors are currently focusing on remaining construction phase, at the same time, clearing the stream bed and embanking the roadway, striving to complete the whole project by October 10, 2021.

With the project of renovating the scenic area of Fairy pagoda and Fairy well relic and restoring Mai Pha archaeological relic, these are two new projects that started construction in mid-March 2021, with a construction value of about 8 billion VND, investing in main items including expanding roads, planting new trees, installing lighting systems, water supply and drainage, fire prevention. After nearly 3 months of implementation, the volume value of items reached 3/8 billion.

As of the beginning of June 2021, 3 projects to be completed in 2021 all have good volume. The Lao Ly stream embankment project has completed 80% of the volume, the contractors are committed to complete the entire work by October 2021.

Regarding four new construction projects, it is necessary to focus on speeding up the progress, including the project of renovating and embellishing the campus of Phai Loan lake; infrastructure of resettlement area at block 8 Dong Kinh ward; resettlement area at block 9, Vinh Trai ward (Ao Can – Bai Than area) and My Son resettlement and residential area, up to April 2021, 3 projects have started construction. Particularly, the project of renovating and embellishing the campus of Phai Loan lake is currently appraising the drawing design and estimates, expected to start in July 2021.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hanh, Chairman of Lang Son City People’s Committee said: “The city’s key works have important and pervasive significance, especially resettlement and residential projects, which create both the fund of resettlement land and the resources to reinvest in essential infrastructure works of the city. Therefore, the City People’s Committee has been focusing heavily on site clearance and directing to speed up construction and installation. The goal is that by the end of the year, infrastructure projects of resettlement and residential areas will have reached at least 80% of their volume. Regarding the project of renovation and embellishment of Phai Loan lake’s campus, it is to construct 40% of the volume.”

2021 is the first year of implementing the socio-economic development plan for the 2021-2025 period, therefore, the early completion of key projects will create a great impetus for the city’s growth. Thereby, it contributes to the successful implementation of the socio-economic development, urban embellishment of Lang Son city in 2021 and creating momentum for the following years.

According to updated data by the end of June 2, 2021, 3 projects of the city’s resettlement area have cleared the overall ground for 70% of the volume, the contractors have constructed 15% of the contract value. .
