Deployment of the digital border gate platform in Lang Son province

– On February 18, the Provincial People’s Committee held a meeting to deploy the digital border gate platform in Lang Son province. Mr. Ho Tien Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee chaired the meeting.

Attending the meeting were representatives of leaders of departments, sectors and representatives of agencies, units and businesses at Huu Nghi International Border Gate and Tan Thanh Border Gate.

From July 2021 to now, the Department of Information and Communications has completed the installation of 8 AI cameras connected to the digital border gate platform at Huu Nghi International Border Gate and Tan Thanh Border Gate; connect 4 traffic cameras along National Highway 1A from Huu Lung district to the border gate area; tested the functions of the digital border gate platform on the mobile app, on the website; checked and evaluated information security; organized propaganda, training, user manual for agencies and businesses…

However, the situation of entering information on the digital border gate platform is very low. Therefore, the Department of Information and Communications proposed from February 21, 2022, requiring 100% of import and export businesses to declare information online on the digital border gate platform and requested the units and functional forces at the border gate not to accept and work with import-export businesses that do not declare online on the digital border gate platform. The Department also proposed relevant functional agencies and units to implement this policy and is responsible for notifying and propagating to import-export businesses and customs agents for implementation. In addition, for vehicles that have not been declared before on the digital border gate platform, the border guard force shall assume the prime responsibility for, and coordinate with the customs at the border gate, in coordinating vehicles to enter the temporary yard for enterprises to declare online with the support of Lang Son Telecommunications.

Discussing at the meeting, the delegates raised their opinions about issues such as Deploying the installation of automatic barrier and electronic weighing system; the time to put the digital border gate platform into official operation, concretize instructions and propagate to authorities and businesses…

Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee praised and highly appreciated the efforts of relevant departments and agencies in implementing the digital border gate platform. He requested that from February 21, 2022, all import-export businesses and relevant forces at Huu Nghi International Border Gate and Tan Thanh Border Gate must carry out customs clearance on the digital border gate platform.

He suggested the Department of Information and Communications to coordinate with relevant units to set up 2 support groups to guide businesses to declare on the digital border gate platform and soon advise the Provincial People’s Committee to establish a working group to direct the implementation of comprehensive digital transformation for the border gate area. Along with that, the department needs to continue to improve the features and effects of the software currently in use and promote propaganda in many forms so that businesses across the country understand the policy of deploying the digital border gate platform.

At the same time, the Management Board of Dong Dang – Lang Son border gate economic zone is requested to act as the focal point and preside over this activity in the border gate area to handle and solve arising problems and urgently advise on investment in automatic barrier system. In addition, relevant functional forces need to coordinate closely and consistently to ensure smooth import-export activities at the border gate area.
