Inspecting, surveying and evaluating the activities of Thuy Hung border startup youth village

– On April 26, the inspection delegation of the Central Committee of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union led by Mr. Bui Quang Huy, An Alternate Member of the CPV Central Committee, the Standing Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union inspected, surveyed and evaluated the activities of Thuy Hung border startup youth village in Thuy Hung commune, Van Lang district.

Attending the inspection delegation were Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, the leaders of a number of related departments and sectors and the People’s Committee of Van Lang district.

Thuy Hung border startup youth village was invested and built from March 2008 to 2013 with a total area of ​​1,226 ha in Na Hinh village, Thuy Hung commune and Na Tong village, Trung Khanh commune.

When the village was established, there were 146 households (81 old households and 65 new households). For new households without land, the State supported them with land for housing and provided 2 hectares of forest land and 2 sao (a measuring unit, equal to 360m2) of field, households that already have production land in the village was supported with land for housing and production. Currently, the village has 135 households with 204 people. Basically, the households that have been provided with land and forest have practiced farming with the main activities such as afforestation, animal husbandry, etc. Up to now, the number of poor and near-poor households has been 14 (down 10 households compared to the time when the village was newly established), per capita income has reached 30 million VND/person/year.

Besides the achieved results, the village are still facing difficulties and limitations such as small production land fund in the project area; villages in remote and border areas with many crevices and low mountain slopes causing difficulties for production and cultivation; a part of the people in the village still relying too much on the State…

At the meeting, the leaders of a number of departments, commissions, sectors had discussed about the grant of land use right certificates to 10 households who have not completed the documents; the investment in infrastructure in the village…

Speaking at the inspection session, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee asked relevant departments and agencies to continue to coordinate with the local Party committee and authority to pay attention to building the village and advising the Provincial People’s Committee to have a direction to further develop the village. He also wished that the Central Committee of Youth Union would continue to lead, direct, pay attention to, support and invest in Thuy Hung border startup youth village.

Concluding the inspection, the Standing Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union acknowledged the results achieved by Thuy Hung border startup youth village in recent years. He suggested that all levels and branches of Lang Son province continue to pay attention to further promoting the effectiveness of the startup youth village; local Party committee, authority and the Provincial Youth Union should focus on building effective economic development models, contributing to creating stable incomes for households in the village. In addition, he expected that relevant departments and branches should soon find solutions to overcome difficulties in order to further develop the village.

Previously, the delegation supported the development of an agricultural model with technology application worth 60 million VND; supported breeding animals, animal feed and presented gifts to children and disadvantaged households in Thuy Hung, Trung Khanh communes.
