Huu Lung district needs to make efforts to successfully control and stamp out the outbreak in Thanh Son commune in 15 days

– On December 27, the provincial delegation led by Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee to inspect the pandemic prevention and control in Thanh Son commune, Huu Lung district.

 According to the report of the Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control of Huu Lung district and the Steering Committee of Thanh Son commune at the inspection, from November 1, 2021 to December 26, 2021, the whole district recorded 171 cases of COVID -19. Currently, 60 cases are still being treated at the district health center. In order to adapt safely and flexibly to the development of the pandemic, Huu Lung district has taken a number of measures such as suspending crowded activities, karaoke services and a number of non-essential services at high risk area.

In particular, in Thanh Son commune, in just 3 days from the afternoon of December 25 to 11 a.m. on December 27, the whole commune recorded 33 suspected cases of COVID-19. As soon as the information was received, the Commune People’s Committee urgently implemented disease prevention and control measures such as performing a rapid test to screen for SARS-CoV-2 on a large scale of more than 2,500 people in the whole commune; disinfecting the outbreak areas; establishing 2 quarantine checkpoints to quarantine the entire Thanh Son commune. Schools in the area have suspended students, switched to online learning, and postponed exams for 9th grade students.

Speaking at the inspection, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee said that the pandemic in Huu Lung district was still under control.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee asked Huu Lung district to continue promoting and diversifying forms of propaganda to suit the right targets. The district steering committee needs to have a plan to ensure that there are enough drugs and medical supplies to serve the prevention and control work. At the same time, the district needs to speed up the vaccination work, increase additional vaccination, and inject the 3rd dose to ensure safety and compliance with regulations; ensure social security and order in the area, especially in quarantined areas.

For Thanh Son commune alone, he asked the district steering committee to strengthen inspection and direct the commune steering committee to make efforts within 15 days to successfully control and stamp out the outbreak in the area; ensure the well-being of people in quarantine and blockade areas.
