Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee inspects the prevention and control of COVID-19 at the border gate area

– On the morning of December 18, the delegation of the province led by Mr. Ho Tien Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, inspected the pandemic prevention and control at Tan Thanh Border Gate in Van Lang district and Huu Nghi International Border Gate in Cao Loc district.

Participating in the delegation were the leaders of the Department of Health, Provincial Public Security Department, Provincial Border Guard Command, Management Board of Dong Dang – Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone and related units.

Within the working schedule, the delegation inspected the implementation of pandemic prevention and control measures in Van Lang and Cao Loc districts. In which, in Van Lang district, the delegation inspected the gathering point for long-distance drivers waiting for export at the Non-Tariff Zone, Tan My commune; area for accommodation for long-distance drivers and concentrated isolation of F1 cases in the area at DRAGON Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd – Northern Vietnam, Tan My commune and the pandemic prevention and control at Bao Nguyen car park – Tan Thanh border gate area, Tan Thanh commune

In Cao Loc district, the delegation checked the control of people and vehicles entering and exiting the border gate at checkpoint B2, Huu Nghi International Border Gate, Dong Dang town; pandemic prevention and control at the concentrated parking lot for cars waiting for export at the cargo transshipment zone, Phu Xa commune.

Speaking at the inspection, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee highly appreciated the Steering Committees for COVID-19 Prevention and Control of Van Lang and Cao Loc districts and relevant functional forces for seriously implementing pandemic prevention and control measures at the highest level in the above areas to ensure a “green zone” for quick goods import and export activities.

However, in response to the requirement of controlling the COVID-19 pandemic on goods and ensuring that import and export activities take place smoothly and continuously, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee directed the units to survey the locations, prepare a plan to build a control area, spray disinfectant for goods before exporting. After agreeing on the plan and selecting eligible enterprises to implement, the province would hold talks with the Chinese side on a plan to control the COVID-19 pandemic on import and export goods passing through the area.

In two areas where long-distance drivers are waiting for export in Van Lang and Cao Loc districts, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee asked the functional forces to strictly control the team of long-distance drivers; to fully ensure living conditions, security, safety and environmental sanitation in the parking area. At the same time, they should continue to strengthen and diversify forms of propaganda for drivers and goods owners about their rights and responsibilities for the strict implementation of pandemic prevention, control regulations and the mechanisms and measures implemented by Lang Son for smooth, fast and convenient import and export activities.

As for the Department of Health, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee requested the unit to ensure sufficient human resources, equipment and medical supplies for pandemic prevention and control at the border gate area; establish mobile vaccination teams, promptly review and administer vaccines to drivers and goods owners who have not been vaccinated or have not received 2 doses of COVID-19 vaccine; strengthen coordination with China in testing and treating (if any) cases of Chinese experts and nationals returning China through the Huu Nghi International Border Gate.
